A hero that limits the number of minions you can play per turn (I'd say 2), but gives you a strong benefit (like every minion you buy gets +1/+1, maybe) seems like a fun trade-off. Presumably, it's a net downside, so it can be treated as such and come with an upside of some sort. A hero that either generates or starts with non-spots (like the narrow streets solo adventure thing) would be interesting because it hurts your board to have fewer spots but, at the same time, protects you from cleaves.
